Many
of the sample cards on my website use this technique of Double-Inking. The most important thing to remember is to always start with the lightest color ink first, to protect your ink pads. This technique will give a "mottled" impression, for trees it looks like shadows, on other stamps it can look like an aging barn, a mottled horse, or just texture. Try it and be pleasantly surprised at the outcome. (See samples below) |
The
"texture" you see on the Trees (N55) above is from the texture
of the felt of the ink pad... it adds quite a nice touch. |

![]() The horses, stagecoach, cowboys, barn and tree trunk all were done using this technique. Stamps used: Sky Tool (D493), mountains (P15), rider (J374), other background horses (J364 and J338), stagecoach (P27) |
