York, PA I've shown the cards I made at your class in York to lots of friends, and they can hardly believe that they are made with rubber stamps, and that it's not a difficult process. You are really a gifted artist to have worked it out. Many thanks! Ellen |

York, PA ... It was a wonderful day and I'm looking forward to using all your stamps. Say thanks to Carlos for me too please. It was a pleasure to meet both of you. Merrill |

York, PA I took the afternoon class you taught in York, Pa. Everyone back home (Central NYS) was impressed with the cards we made. It was a very enjoyable afternoon and I walked away happy with having learned something new in the way of stamping. Karen L |

York, PA It was so much fun - I loved it. I'm hoping to get some stamping in next week and plan to play with my new stamps. Thanks so much to both you and Carlos - it was great. I've taken other classes from you, but still learned new things. Take care .... hope to get to Ocean City next year ... Robin |

2, 2007, Novi, MI Hey, it's Lisa, I just wanted to email you with a comment I thought you might want to add to your website about the classes. Something my mom and I have repeatedly discussed is how we hate when we take a class and the projects aren't organized, stuff is always missing and there's always only one of everything, so you constantly have to wait until someone else is finished to work on your card, so you spend a lot of time just sitting around. This class was completely different. All the kits were laid out and ready so that you could pick one and work on it at your own pace. There was no waiting or searching for missing items, and there were lots of choices with the markers and pencils to make the designs your own. It was a ton of fun and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to learn new techniques and make some beautiful cards. |

| April 2007,
Akron, Ohio The convention started for me with the Alextamping class on Friday afternoon. My mom decided to join me even though scenic stamping isn't her "thing" - it's my thing, so she thought she would check it out for fun. Karen started the class with some demos for the group. Basically in 20 minutes or so she gave us quite a few tips and tricks to work with. I learned SO much just watching and listening to her in that demo at the start of class. Just off the top of my head - how easy it is to mask with paper (straight for a horizon or torn for a hillside or other irregular shape), how to use the sky tool, how to quickly stipple in some sand or grass, and how quickly her stamps can be used together to create an entire scene! Then she set the class loose to go stamp scenes at our own pace. Karen and Carlos were there to help throughout, and they were so encouraging and friendly. My mom and I really enjoyed being able to pick out which scene to make next (there were 20+ to choose from!), and being able to work at our own pace, trying things out and learning as we went along. We each made 5 or 6 cards - both as COMPLETE newbies with Alextamping stamps and new or fairly new with anything scenic as well - during the class. (We were also giggling and picking on each other and having fun throughout, which I'm sure slowed us down, but it was great!) There were others in the class who finished 10-12 cards in the same amount of time. I think I could have kept going for hours more, but the 2 hour class was a super introduction to things and I left feeling like I could start to create my own scenes. Saturday and Sunday were the convention days. My first stop was the Alextamping booth, and I looked all the images and made some selections to start my own collection. Decisions, decisions! I ended up with a couple of mini kits as well as a few sky and water stamps and a variety of other images to play with to get me started. Throughout the weekend I kept stopping back past the booth, just saying hi and watching a few minutes of demos here and there. Saturday I also had a chance to meet up with Krista and Donna, which was great. Saturday night I stamped my first scenes with my own Alextamping stamps! Sunday Carlos and Karen offered me an amazing chance to come inside their booth near the end of the show. I ended up helping with the make and take stations, which are set up with instruction sheets (just like the ones off of the instructional CD). It was fun to be able to help other newbies play with Alextamping stamps for the first time, and of course Karen and Carlos were always close at hand to help. One stamper asked how long I'd been doing these, and I laughed and said "since Friday!" Then I explained that I'd taken the class and that Karen and Carlos were great instructors and the stamps were fun and easy to use. Anyway, that's my report from Akron. I had a blast, what a weekend! Now I'm plotting to figure out if there's any way I can make it to Novi in August! Happy stamping! Kate |
